Well, Insha Allah, Ramadan is upon us again

For us, Muslims, Ramadan is the most sacred month
It comes with some peculiar perks that no other month brings

Ramadan, the month that we respect
The month that we retrospect
The month that we radiate
The month that we are relatable
The month that we are refreshing with goodness



Ramadan, the month that we act
The month that we are active with good deeds
The month that we are absolutely adorable
The month that we abide by almost all religious and worldly rules and regulations
The month that we are bursting with affirmations
and awesomeness



Ramadan, the month that we meditate
The month that we make amends
The month that we are mindful
The month that we motivate
The month that we beam with mercy

Ramadan, the month of acta non verba

Ramadan, the month that we are dispassionate



Ramadan, be acta non verba

Ramadan, the noble month
Let the observers of the noble month act nobly
Not just in the month, but every other moth round the year

My brothers and sisters in Islam let this Ramadan be the beginning of a more beautiful, fruitful, and faithful life.
The Noble Quran teaches us in ways no other book can
Let’s read it
Reflect on it
And act upon it

Ya Allah, make us from amongst those whom you're pleased with.

THE SANITY OF THE MENTALLY CHALLENGED

Yes, I went to a wedding ceremony last week on Sunday. Now, before the trotro vehicle which would eventually stain my white dress the next day (weird) pulled out of the Darkuman Official Town circle spot, a lot of dust began to settle in it. We, the passengers looked around and found out that a mentally challenged individual was sweeping along the street. Some of the passengers began to make some unsettling comments. While others insulted the sweeping mentally challenged lady to be insane, others spoke of how nobody had sent her to sweep the roadside that early morning. After they have made all these comments and many others like them, it got me thinking. So, the mentally challenged person has realized that the place is dirty and for that matter needs cleaning but the mentally sane people don’t see that. The Ghana Institute of Journalism launched its sixtieth anniversary today. Sadly, it rained in my area this morning so I could not make it to the launch on time. Well, I got to the campus around 3:30 pm. It was also the same time that the canopies erected for the occasion were being packed. It was like being given the black (kanzo) part of the rice you helped cook because you were not around when it was ready to be consumed. Just serve it to the goats and curse the people in your head. Satan also hears silent prayers. I stood under one of the ‘permanent’ canopies on the campus as God continued to wet the earth while He stayed in a dry heaven.
